LAMB OF GOD Frontman: UNHOLY ALLIANCE Was 'Best Tour We've Ever Done'

Australia's The Metal Forge music 'zine recently conducted an interview with LAMB OF GOD vocalist Randy Blythe. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

On the Unholy Alliance North American tour:

"It was great. We had already toured with [CHILDREN OF] BODOM. We'd already toured with SLAYER before and we knew the MASTODON guys for a long time and we'd met the THINE EYES BLEED guys. It was the best tour we've ever done so far without a doubt in my estimation. It had a real family vibe to it. Everybody got along great. There was a lot of good partying, a lot of good times and not a lot of drama or politics or anything. Everybody was treated with respect. It was a great time. It's going back out in Europe after we do the Australian run. So I'm really looking forward to doing that with them again in Europe."

On touring plans for the next few months:

"We're pretty much booked up until the end of the year. We'll get done in Europe in late November and hopefully have December off to spend with our families and do the holidays and so forth. I'm sure we'll hit the road in January, February at the latest. Nothing's been booked but we aren't gonna stay at home long; not with a new record out. Our management definitely said ‘You know what? We're gonna go tour wherever there's a show to play.' So we'll be cruising around the world for a year or two I suppose on this one."

On upcoming Australian tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and UNEARTH:

"It's been one of my career goals, since we really kind of became a band that I could consider a career, to go to Japan and to go to Australia and New Zealand. There's been talk about doing it for a couple of years. Finally for it to happen, I didn't know when it was gonna happen, I'm just relieved it's gonna happen, because I've really wanted to come to Japan and Australia and New Zealand. This time we aren't gonna make it to New Zealand but hopefully some time next year. I'll definitely settle for Australia and Japan this time. I'm super excited."
